The North Wing

Terry and Julie have a beautiful home in a well established and charming neighborhood of Longmont. They’ve raised a wonderful family there and are preparing for the next phase of life through the addition of a new bedroom/bathroom suite that will host long term guests. It was critical to have good access for this space as the inhabitants are like to have limited mobility. Function took precedence over form on this one, but the architecture and finishes were a perfect fit to tie together the new and the old. The entire team did a marvelous job of blending the old with the new and created a seamless addition. In the end, we helped them create a one of a kind addition!

A custom Bunn & Sons project

Home Addition in Longmont

Scope of Project

  • A new ground level bedroom suite with its own bathroom, large, walk-in closet, and direct access to the garage, back patio, and the main portion of the house
  • A reworked 3 car garage that truly allows parking for 3 cars
  • Upgraded electrical service to the house
  • A new concrete driveway and sidewalks
  • Several miscellaneous fixes and updates to other areas of the existing home

We had Bunn & Sons do a major addition to our house... a main-floor mother-in-law suite including a handicapped accessible bathroom and walk-in closet as well as a reconfiguration of our garage to keep the 3-car capability. It was a very good experience. The Bunn & Sons crew is very cleanly. They clean up every day. We were given progress pictures every day. The online project schedule (5 months) was kept current, and while some things moved around a bit, as should be expected, the end date actually moved in. Creating a plan, a detailed plan for such a large project takes a great deal of work. It did not come free, but in our view, the old adage of "You get what you pay for" holds true. We wanted confidence in the estimate that was provided, and that is exactly what we got. This was a huge project for us, and we could not have Bunn & Sons coming back telling us that framing, plumbing, flooring, roofing, demolition, foundation concrete, electrical, etc would cost more than they estimated. The project was completed on budget, a week early and with excellent quality, and it looks like it was always part of the house rather than an addition that sticks out like a sore thumb. It does not get better than that. Before and after pictures, below.
