Teddy and Bridget already loved their home in the Eagle Trace community, but the kitchen and main level hadn't kept pace with their growing family or the way they wanted to host. Our team partnered closely with them to open up the heart of the home, trading dated 90's architecture and worn finishes for a layout built around connection, entertaining, and everyday life.

Tired, Worn Finishes: Dated cabinetry, broken-down surfaces, and builder-grade details made the kitchen feel like a space the family had outgrown years ago.
Closed-Off 90’s Layout: The original architecture walled the kitchen off from the living room, making it hard to entertain or keep everyone in the same conversation.
An Island That Couldn’t Keep Up: The existing island was too small to seat the family comfortably or serve as the gathering spot a full household needs.
A Dull Main Level: Worn hardwoods, aging balusters, and tired paint across the main level kept the whole floor feeling stuck in a previous decade.
Our designer worked hand in hand with Teddy and Bridget to reimagine the kitchen, moving from 2D sketches to full 3D renderings and walking them through every finish selection. By reconfiguring inside the original footprint, we delivered a dramatically more functional space without structural changes, a choice that protected both the home's bones and the family's budget.
Expanding and reconfiguring the island gave Teddy and Bridget the seating, prep space, and open sightline into the living room they needed for the way their family actually gathers.
A custom wood range hood became the warm, grounding focal point the space had always been missing, tying together the new cabinetry, countertops, and lighting.
Clean, modern cabinet construction that maximizes storage and gives the whole kitchen a more refined, intentional look.

Approximately 1,400 square feet of existing hardwood brought back to life across the kitchen and main level.
Updated railings on the main level and the second-level hallway above the kitchen, replacing the 90's detailing for a cleaner, more current feel.
Several main-level areas repainted to carry the new design language throughout the home.
What was once a cramped, dated kitchen is now a gathering space that opens naturally into the rest of the main level. Teddy and Bridget have the seating, the flow, and the finishes to host the whole family, and a home that finally feels as warm and welcoming as the people inside it.
